Homegrowncollective

I am a huge fan of monthly subscription boxes, and I especially love those that come with DIY projects. Homegrown Collective is a monthly subscription service that delivers a Green Box to your door every month which is filled with products to help you become more sustainable.

By buying in bulk, and then distributing the products, the subscriber is able to create and enjoy without having to purchase everything individually. The Green Boxes come with a combination of DIY projects, in which they give you everything you need, and some products that are made and ready to be enjoyed. Each Green Box is professionally and seasonally curated to help you get the most out of your garden and greenify your days in the most satisfying ways.

Homegrown Collective has created a community of like minded individuals that are striving to live sustainably and greener. Their boxes inspire subscribers to think about more natural ways to approach life and the means to get started. Past boxes have included items such as a mushroom growing kit, heirloom seeds, water kefir supplies, DIY cheese kit, DIY herbal tinctures, DIY homemade cough syrup, raw honey, beeswax, gourmet treats and more. Sure you could buy most of this stuff from the store, but it is fun to make and create these things on your own. Learn how to be more sustainable and healthier with Homegrown Collective.

I was sent their January DIY Detox in a Box, both for the inside and out. I was so excited to get my box and open it up to see what goodies I was going to create this month. My box came with everything I need to make a fizzing Dead Sea Salt Bath Soak and a Bentonite & Rosewater Mask. My box also came with Dandelion loose leaf tea and an infuser ball. I felt giddy as I took products out of the box and closely inspected them. I especially love how Homegrown Collective sends their recipes and information: by using a protective sleeve attached to the inside lid, the information and recipes were displayed with bold titles.

The Dead Sea Salt bath soak is aimed at relaxing your muscles and removing toxins from your body. The kit came with Dead Sea Salt, Lavender, and a Sodium Bicarbonate and Citric Acid blend. I blended these three ingredients together and stored it in the containers provided. When I am ready to take a bath, all I have to do is pour some of the mixture in one of the cotton muslin bags. The sodium bicarbonate and citric acid blend will fizz when added to the water, while the lavender will sooth your sore muscles and provide a wonderful scent, and the the dead sea salt helps remove toxins from your body. It smells heavenly!

The Bentonite and Rosewater mud mask is paired so that the rosewater soothes while the Bentonite absorbs unwanted toxins. This detoxifying mask tightens as it dries. I was sent a spray bottle that I was able to fill with water and rose water to mist on my face and body whenever I want. My kids like when I spray them with the rose water. It is a very refreshing mist for any time of the day.

The Dandelion loose leaf tea aides in detoxing your liver and kidneys. This tea cleanses your liver and helps with weight loss. Dandelions are a great source of vitamin A, potassium, iron and calcium. My box came with a tea ball infuser so I could steep my loose leaf tea. I had never heard of dandelion tea so I was anxious to try it. It tasted a little bitter as first so I added a little honey.

Altogether, I enjoyed making the different projects that Homegrown Collective sent me. You can subscriber for $39 a month + $9 shipping when you pay month to month, or you can subscribe for 6 months for $234 and get free shipping! There are also 3 month and 12 month subscription options.
